Transform Your Kitchen: The Top Redo Tips

Hello FUR-iends,

Let me start by saying this is not a treat post, but this is what I have been up to in between the orders.

Are you looking to give your kitchen a fresh new look without breaking the bank? One of the most cost-effective ways to transform your kitchen is by painting your cabinets. In this blog post, we will guide you through the process of painting cabinets step by step.

Step 1: Removing Cabinet Doors

The first step in painting your cabinets is to remove the cabinet doors and hardware. This will make it easier to paint the cabinets and ensure a smooth finish. Make sure to label each door and its corresponding cabinet to make reassembly easier. I should add, it may be easier to clean if all the things in the cabinets are removed. I chose the hard way and Just left it all in there. (oops) You can also cover with plastic while sanding the cabinets themselves.(Just tape the plastic around the inside edged of the cabinets to avoid any debris from filling all your cups, plates, etc.

Step 2: Sanding Cabinets

Next, you will need to sand the cabinets to create a smooth surface for the paint to adhere to. Use a fine-grit sandpaper to remove any existing finish and roughen up the surface. This will help the primer and paint stick better to the cabinets.

Step 3: Priming Cabinets

After sanding, it's time to prime the cabinets. Primer will help the paint adhere better and provide a more durable finish. Make sure to choose a primer specifically designed for use on cabinets for the best results.

Step 4: Painting Cabinets

Finally, it's time to paint your cabinets. Choose a high-quality paint in the color of your choice. Apply the paint in thin, even coats, allowing each coat to dry completely before applying the next. This will help prevent drips and ensure a smooth finish. I used infinity by shirwin Williams. It applied beautifully!

By following these steps, you can give your kitchen a fresh new look with painted cabinets. Not only is this a cost-effective way to update your kitchen, but it also allows you to customize the look to suit your style. So why wait? Start your kitchen redo today!

I, of course have not finished. I am just waiting on the contact paper to finish and give my cabinets a beautiful countertop without breaking the bank! Keep a look out for the final look!
